This Frers 33 was built by Carol Marine,
Rhode Island, in 1990. It was the second to last one made. She broke
her mooring in a hurricane and ran ashore. She did not sink
but suffered slight hull damage that has since been professionally
repaired and is now better than new. The keel and rudder were removed
and for the last six or seven years has lived on a trailer behind the
owner's house at an airpark in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The all-teak interior is in excellent
condition, new roof lining fitted, new batteries, Yanmar 2-cylinder
engine that has been overhauled and all cabin cushions have been
re-upholstered. Air conditioning is also fitted. U.K. Sails have made
new Genoa and Spinaker and the Main is as new. All Barient winches are
fitted with wheel steering and all new deck pulleys and lifelines. B &
G speed/depth ok, but new wind etc. instruments are required. the mast
has rod rigging with new halyards ($1,000+!) and hydraulic
tensioner. It does need anti-foul and the keel and rudder must be
re-fitted (just 10 bolts!). Sadly, owner has lost interest with other
projects to complete, so it must go!

1986 Carroll Marine built Frers 33, $49,000. All new North racing 3DL sails in the last 3 years, includes a full set of older race sails delivery/cruising sails, 4 Spinnakers. New Standing and running rigging in 2004 - rod, turnbuckles, Head Foil, Halyards and New Awlgrip paint by Hall Spars on the mast, boom, & pole. All new Hatches and Rope Clutches in 2007. The rudder post and bearing surfaces were re-worked in 2008 - no slop. New Cultlass Bearing 2008. The bottom is race prepped with ablative Awlgrip Awlstar and is about 90% perfect for racing. This is a lighter weight tiller boat - translate that as one less cockpit crew required & the skipper sits 4' forward!!! - idea for racing - Vapor Trail has a Great Racing and Cruising Record!!! Yanmar 16hp 2GM. Pressure H & C Water, Ice Box, Origo Oven/Stove, DataMarine/KVH instruments, VHF, Garmin GPS, AutoHelm 2000, full CG Safety gear. Oiled Teak interior, Navy Cushions, many updates.
